Entegrata Launches Metrics, Putting Law Firms in Control of Their Calculation and Reporting Journey
Nashville, August 24, 2026 – Entegrata, the leading data intelligence platform for law firms, today announced Metrics, a new layer of its platform where firms define the metrics and calculations behind their data, providing authoritative context for business intelligence reporting.
For years, law firm analytics has run on legacy, cube-based data warehouses: proprietary, black-box systems that often take overnight to refresh, with calculation logic obscured from the firm, requiring a vendor support ticket, and the vendor's timeline, to add or change definitions. On the front end, firms are typically locked into that same vendor's proprietary reporting interface and are unable to easily plug in the tools they want to use. As Power BI has become the de facto reporting standard across the legal industry, that lock-in has turned from an inconvenience into a real constraint: Firms can see the destination but can't get their data there on their own terms.
Metrics resolves these challenges by giving firms ownership of their reporting strategy, end to end. From the Entegrata Admin App, a firm authors each metric definition and calculation in a governed layer, publishing each as a clean table that every downstream application reads, including Power BI, AI tools, and other line-of-business systems. When the firm wants to revisit a reporting standard, it can edit definitions themselves in one place and have it displayed everywhere, with no vendor ticket or waiting on a third party’s refresh cycle.
"Entegrata enhances our ability to manage and control how our numbers are defined by placing control in the hands of the firm," said Daniel Ronesi, Chief Pricing and Analytics Officer at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP. "Metrics will let us speak to our results with confidence and enables us to trust that our numbers will be current, which changes how quickly we can actually act on them."
Revenue Metrics, the first module available at launch, gives firms a catalog of over 100 pre-built, revenue-focused metric and calculation definitions out of the box. The firm can tailor these metrics to their own standards or build their own custom metrics through a simple UI. The catalog includes definitions for measures such as realization, utilization, work in progress, and revenue per lawyer. Firms can author definitions directly from the Entegrata Admin App, and an "Author with AI" option is available with the module.
Entegrata runs natively on Databricks, a modern, cloud-native data platform, so calculations in Metrics refresh in minutes rather than running as an overnight batch job, with no separate infrastructure for the firm to manage.
"Almost every law firm we work with has lived some version of the same frustrations: locked into an aging cube, waiting on someone else's refresh schedule and someone else's support queue just to make a change, and boxed into a proprietary front end when what they really want is Power BI," said Tom Baldwin, Founder and CEO of Entegrata. "Entegrata already makes it far easier for firms to serve clean, standardized data across their organizations. Metrics adds the critical missing piece: a modern, self-service, transparent layer of control and context that allows the firm to define what each measure actually means."
Metrics Use Cases
Just a single definition authored via Metrics can support a range of reporting and analytics needs, including:
One consistent answer, no matter where you ask. Today, the same question, for example, “What's the realization rate for a certain client?”can return different results depending on whether you ask a BI dashboard, an internal app, or an AI assistant, because each one likely points to a different version of the logic. Because AI assistants, BI tools, embedded reporting, internal applications, intranets, and ad-hoc queries all read the same governed Metrics tables, they return the same answer every time, regardless of where someone goes to get it.
Centralized, governed metric tables. Metrics computes each defined metric and lands it as a clean fact table in the Operational Data Store (ODS), giving the firm an approved set of numbers instead of logic scattered across reports, spreadsheets, and third-party tools, refreshed on the firm's schedule, not a legacy batch cycle. Version control and full audit trails ensure firms maintain governance.
A governed foundation for Power BI. As Power BI becomes the reporting standard of choice across the legal industry, reporting teams can build directly on approved metric values rather than re-deriving logic report by report or working around a legacy platform's proprietary front end, while continuing to own the Power BI semantic model on top.
Support for established report platforms. Existing reporting on systems such as SSRS, or ad-hoc reporting in Excel, can draw directly from the governed metric tables, retiring duplicate logic without re-platforming the tools a firm already runs.
